Did you know that it is possible to choose how your Income Tax will benefit society? The Incentive Laws, which have the objective of stimulating the social and economic development of a certain sector, allow individuals and companies to donate, that is, allocate part of the Income Tax (IR) to social, cultural or sports projects .
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It is important to remember that the tax incentive does not imply an extra investment or a discount on taxation: what happens is that part of the resources that would already be paid in the form of taxes are now destined to social initiatives – that is, the government opens resources that it would receive through taxes to be applied to projects that contribute to society.
For legal entities (companies), it is possible to donate up to 9% of the tax based on the Real Profit, thus obtaining the deductibility at the time of the IRPJ calculation. For the companies of Profit Presumido and Simples Nacional there is no deduction in taxes with contributions or donations because their taxation is different.
Individuals who complete the Full Income Tax Declaration can donate up to 6% of the Income Tax, and can benefit from the deduction or from the increase in the amount to be refunded.
